Experienced criminal defense in all Massachusetts courts
Attorney William J. Walsh was first appointed a Boston Police Officer ("BPD") in 1983. Shortly after his appointment he went to law school and graduated near the top of his class. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1992.
Walsh was later named the Criminal Law Instructor to the Boston Police Academy, where he trained most of Boston's officers on all aspects of Criminal & Constitutional law. He has lectured statewide on various legal topics.
After leaving the Police Academy, Walsh was appointed an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County, where he handled hundreds of criminal cases as a Prosecutor in Dorchester Court.
After returning to the BPD, Sergeant Walsh was later appointed the Supervisor of Cases in Four of Boston's busiest District Courts. In that role he reviewed and supervised all police prosecutions and served as a Liasion to the Court staff.
Recently retired from the BPD, Walsh has been a Member of the Bar for over 25 years and has trial experience in District, Superior and U.S. District Court.
